Inter-state seminar on chemical disaster management at Indore from February 9

An inter-state seminar on chemical (industrial) disaster management will be held at Indore from February 9, 2015. The conference will be held under the aegis of the state government, Federation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry, National Disaster Management Authority and Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board of India. Over 300 participants from Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states will take part in the conference at Hotel Radisson Blue till February 11, 2015.

At the conference, eminent subject experts of the country will deliver lectures on disaster management in industries, prevention of disaster, speedy control on occurrence of disaster etc. Object of the conference is to minimise risks generated by petroleum, chemicals and natural gas to provide better security in industries. During the conference, representatives of various companies will narrate success stories, successful techniques applied at the time of disaster, caution to be exercised in transportation of inflammable materials etc. Participants will get opportunity at the conference for capacity building training in emergency situation on spot and outside. A mock drill for practical training will also be held on February 11.

During the 2-day exhibition, various companies will display their products, techniques and services. These companies include chemicals, oil & gas refineries and exploring units, petrol, hydrocarbon, petro-chemical manufacturers, iron & steel, fertilisers, pesticides, paper, textile, pharmaceutical, safety, security, emergency and healthcare products. Entry is free for government servants in the workshop.
