Transport Deptt. recovers Rs. 1305 crore revenue

Transport, Information Technology, Public Service Management and Public Grievance Redressal Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh reviewed recovery of revenue by the department here today. It was informed at the meeting that revenue worth Rs. 1305 crore has been recovered till date during year 2014-15. Minister Shri Singh directed for immediate removal of Shahdol’s Divisional Deputy Transport Commissioner Shri Gopal Marawi and District Transport Officer, Barwani Shri Sunil Shukla for negligence in work. Principal Secretary Transport Shri Malay Shrivastava, Transport Commissioner Shri Shailendra Shrivastava, senior departmental officers and District Transport Officers were present at the meeting.

Minister Shri Singh directed officers to intensify field activities to attain targets of transport revenue’s recovery. He also directed to make necessary arrangements for online deposit of lifetime tax, rationalization of staff in districts and ensure transport on all rural roads in Ujjain district in view of Simhastha.

The meeting was informed that it has been decided to constitute Madhya Pradesh Intercity Transport Authority in the state to provide modern facilities to passengers at bus stands and plying of good vehicles on profitable routes.
