A married woman was allegedly forced to breast-feed a youth, with whom she had eloped, by a panchayat at Bayda village in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh, which wanted to teach her a lesson, police said. Four persons have been arrested.
The woman eloped with her boyfriend leaving her husband and three kids two months ago.
The enraged villagers nabbed them in Gujarat. After bringing them back, they were beaten severely and produced before a Bhil panchayat. On the directives of the panchayat, the woman’s hair was cut, while the youth was tonsured. The panchayat then ordered the woman to breast-feed the youth with whom she eloped and consider him as her son in future.
