An Indian Air Force unmanned areal vehicle (UAV) crashed on a house in Barmer district of the state here on Friday afternoon after developing some mechanical fault.
The UAV crash site is reported to be near a sparsely populated village of Barmer district
According to reports, the Heron UAV crashed on house of one Gung Singh. Although the house was damaged but fortunately no casualty was reported as at the time of crash the house unoccupied.
As per preliminary reports, the crash reportedly occurred due to snag in the engine of the UAV.
The incident was reported to the police by the villagers and immediately after that a police team rushed to the spot and thereafter relayed the message to the air force authorities about the crash.
As per information, the UAV had taken off from Barmer’s air force base at Uttarlai.
Unfortunately, this is the second incident of air force UAV crash in three months. The earlier one occurred in the Bhuj region of Gujarat in November last.
