“There is no need of being afraid of a seasonal disease like swine flu, but caution is necessary”. This was stated at a workshop held to enhance awareness about prevention and treatment of swine flu here today.
Government doctors, directors and doctors of private nursing homes and media representatives attended the workshop. The workshop was informed that the diseases is transmitted from other cities and people with change in season. It is better to start timely treatment as per protocol. Symptoms of the disease are cold, cough, difficulty in breathing, throat pain and pneumonia.
Arrangements for tests and treatment in MP
Principal Secretary Health Shri Praveer Krishna informed that necessary medicines and facility of test of swine flu have been made available in all 51 districts of the state. H1 N1 Wards have been set up in hospitals. Patients are taken to hospitals by Ambulance 108 and vehicles fitted with advanced life support facility. To save common people from financial burden of treatment, free medicines are provided to them while other medicines can be obtained at very low cost.
The Principal Secretary informed that over one lakh officers are engaged in removing shortcomings, enhancing credibility of health services and maintain people’s health. The workshop was also addressed by Director of AIIMS Bhopal Dr. Alkesh Khurana and other experts. Information was given at the workshop about types of swine flu and protocol for treatment.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal Dr. Veena Sinha welcomed the participants. Health Commissioner Shri Pankaj Agrawal and Director NHM Shri Faiz Ahmad Kidwai were present at the workshop. Joint Director Health Bhopal division Dr. Kiran Shejwar proposed a vote of thanks.
