Buyers of Vadra property are no more the owners

Anand Chauharia, Bikaner/Jaipur :

The BJP government has cancelled the ‘mutation’ of the land ‘fraudulently’ purchased by Skylight Hospitality company owned by Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra in 2010 when the Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot was in power.

According to the Collector of Bikaner district, Arati Dogra, the sub-divisional officer of Kolayat had cancelled the mutation of the disputed land belonging to the Goyalari, Gajner, Indo Ka Bala and Madh villages on October 31,2014.

Mutation means transfer or change of title in the records of the local municipal body for the property concerned.

The dubious deals relate to 360 hectares of land belonging to farmers. The government has now declared the land as ‘sivay chak’ (state land).

Earlier, part of this land belonged to Vadra’s company which has over 600 hectares of land in Bikaner’s Kolayat tehsil. It has disposed part of this land at high premium.

The land in question was initially allotted by the state government to farmers who were displaced from the Mahajan firing range in Bikaner district. But a large number of allottees got their land deals done by using forged documents.

The rehabilitated farmers, after getting the land in their name, sold it to Vadra’s company fraudulently in 2010 when Gehlot was in power.

Since the land was bought by Vadra’s company, the then Congress government ignored the issue.

Vadra’s company made 600% profit by selling a large part of the land in 2012 at premium. In all, Vadra’s Sky Light Realty, Sky Light Hospitality and Blue Breeze Trading executed 58 land deeds in Bikaner’s Kolayat tehsil between 2009 and 2013.

A scrutiny of these deeds reveals that Vadra’s firms bought 197 hectares in 2009-10 at a price ranging between Rs 44,000 and Rs 1 lakh per hectare. Most of this land was sold in 2012 at prices ranging between Rs 2.47 lakh and Rs 7.4 lakh per hectare.

Two months after the last sale in 2012, Vadra’s firms bought 214 hectares at prices ranging between Rs 80,000 and Rs 1.21 lakh per hectare.

Now people, who bought the disputed land from Vadra’s company, will have to face the consequence as a large chunk of the land has gone back to the state government and they have no legal right on the property.
