61.26 percent polling in urban body elections

According to information received till 6 pm today, 61.26 percent polling was registered in 9 urban bodies in the state during urban body elections including 63.92 percent males, 58.29 percent female and 1.82 percent other voters. In Harada Nagar Palika, 59.7 voters cast their ballots including 54.45 percent male and 44.61 female voters. In Chhanera Nagar Parishad, 57.36 percent voters exercised their franchise including 60.8 male, 53.83 female and 25 percent other voters.

Among municipal corporations, maximum 82.70 percent polling was registered in Chhindwara and Minimum 56.70 percent in Bhopal. Among Nagar Parishad, maximum 91.39 percent polling was registered in Chhapihera in Rajgarh district and minimum 82.83 percent in Bankheri in Hoshangabad district. Counting will be held on February 4 from 9 am. Detailed information is available on commission’s website www.mplocalelection.gov.in.

Polling of ward-47 in Bhopal has been cancelled due to printing wrong election symbol of an independent candidate. Re-polling there will be held on February 2. Due to fault, 81 EVMs were changed during polling. As many as 26 model polling booths were set up in Bhopal Municipal Corporation, 102 Jabalpur, 85 Indore and 9 in Chhindwara.
