Stadiums/sports training centres costing Rs. 17 crore being constructed in state

The State Government is paying special attention to promotion of sports and sportspersons and its infrastructure development. It is the result of facilities provided to players by Sports & Youth Welfare Department that Madhya Pradesh has become pioneer in sports. In the series, stadiums, sports training centres, multi-purpose halls, mini stadiums, swimming pools etc. are being in various districts of the state at a cost of about Rs. 17 crore 10 lakh.


Rs. 44 lakh 66 is being spent on stadium construction at Banda in Sagar district, Rs. 21 lakh on various construction and development works in Datia district, Rs. 2 crore 90 lakh on Jawahar Nagar Stadium in Satna district, Rs. 25 lakh on stadium at Jawad in Neemuch district and Rs. 52 lakh on construction of stadium at Kundam in Jabalpur district. In the same series, Rs. 75 lakh 20 thousand and Rs. 17 lakh 80 thousand is being spent on indoor stadiums’ construction in Khandwa and Gwalior districts, respectively. Rs. 40 lakh on mini stadium in Chhatarpur district, Rs. 25 lakh in Narsinghpur and Rs. 47 lakh is being spent on construction of mini stadium in Dindori district.

Rs. 77 lakh is being spent on construction of multi-purpose hall in Jhabua district and Rs. 59 lakh 66 thousand in indoor multi-purpose hall at Garhakota in Sagar district. Construction of district sports training centres costing Rs. 2 crore 61 lakh 56 thousand is under progress at Mhow, Satna, Khargone and Pawai (Panna district). Rs. 5 lakh is being spent on swimming pool construction in Rajgarh district and Rs. 49 lakh in Betul district. Besides, Rs. 99 lakh 86 thousand and Rs. 78 lakh 10 thousand is being spent on cricket stadiums at Narsinghpur and Ranital, Jabalpur, respectively.

Rs. 3 crore 64 lakh is being spent on laying synthetic hockey surface at district sports complex, Betul. Similarly, first installment worth Rs. 76 lakh 53 thousand has been released for construction of synthetic hockey ground at Seoni.
