Higher Education Minister Shri Gupta lays foundation stone
A 100-seat girls hostel will be constructed in Government Naveen Girls Higher Secondary School at Tulsi Nagar. For this, Rs. one crore 37 lakh has been sanctioned from MLA’s Fund. Higher and Technical Education Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta laid hostel’s foundation stone here on Monday. Hostel will be constructed in 1135 square meter area.
Shri Gupta directed to use Vidyarthi Bhavan near the school as hostel. He said that no more constructions should be made on the school’s premises now. Shri Gupta said that space must be reserved for girls’ sports activity. He directed to complete hostel’s construction within prescribed time-limit of 15 months. Shri Gupta instructed to pay special attention to quality. He said that girls from remote areas will be able to pursue education while staying here.
The Higher Education Minister said that government has chalked out a number of schemes for girls. He said that no one should consider girls as burden now. A number of welfare schemes have been chalked out for them including Ladli Laxmi Yojana, education, marriage and health. District Education Officer and local public representatives were present on the occasion.
