Suspect of child trafficking arrested

Rajgarh Collector acts on information of W&CD Minister Smt. Maya Singh

On the information given by Woman and Child Development Minister Smt. Maya Singh, a suspect of child trafficking was arrested at Jeerapur in Rajgarh district.

Smt. Maya Singh had got information that some children come to a person named Rajesh Zameendar of Jeerapur in Rajgarh district and leave after some days. Thereafter, the Minister directed Rajgarh Collector to act immediately. The Rajgarh police arrested the suspect and recovered a 4 days old newborn from his custody. The suspect said that he received the infant from Katni. A team of Rajgarh police has left for Katni. A case under sections 363 and 265 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the suspect. The newborn has been kept in neonatal intensive care unit of Rajgarh district hospital.

Minister Smt. Singh has urged people to inform the collector or SP on seeing such suspicious activity. She said that identity of informer will not be disclosed.
