As many as 24 investors have given proposals of 676 MW to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Corporation to make available 100 MW power. It is noteworthy that tenders were invited to make available 100 MW solar energy. Its objective is to receive solar power at prescribed tariff for 25 years. With tenders, condition of purchasing renewable energy in the state will also be fulfilled.
The company is getting 175 MW power on less tariff than prescribed by Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission. Under the tenders invited by the company for receiving 200 MW solar power for 25 years, tariffs of Rs. 7.90 and Rs. 8.05 were prescribed. These tariffs were much lower than Regulatory Commission’s prescribed tariff of Rs. 11.25 and Rs.13.12. Of these 200 MW, generation of 175 MW has begun and Madhya Pradesh has started getting power from them.
Investors are much eager to make available solar energy. The company held detailed discussions with investors through internet and at pre-tender meetings for receiving 100 MW solar power. Enthusiasm was visible in investors to make available solar energy. Of these, 24 investors have given proposals of 676 MW to make available 100 MW power. The tenders were opened before all investors on February 17, 2014. Tenders are being technically analysed and financial proposals wil be opened before investors on February 25.
