Revenue officers should keep watch

MoS for General Administration Shri Arya also directed to light bonfires

Minister of State for General Administration Shri Lal Singh Arya has directed revenue officers to keep a watch over teams deployed to survey crop loss due to hailstorm. Shri Arya toured hailstorm-affected villages in Bhind district on Sunday. Later, at a meeting at Gohad, Shri Arya said that constituting survey teams is not enough, but affected crops’ actual assessment should also be undertaken.

Shri Arya directed revenue officers to ensure that patwaris undertake actual survey of crop loss properly. Patwaris should prepare cases only on the basis of their assessment, but should also hear affected farmers.

Shri Arya directed survey teams that apart from mustard, wheat, gram, pulses etc., affected crops of vegetables and fruits, affected domestic poultry and cattle should also be included in the survey. He directed to ensure that no affected farmer is left out of survey. He said that during his next visit, he will interact with farmers and know about survey of affected crops.

Shri Arya directed that bonefire should be lit in district’s urban and rural areas. It should be done in urban areas by municipal councils and by Gram Panchayats in rural areas.
