Sushri Saroj Vishwakarma, an ASHA worker of Chanwar Patha area in Narsinghpur district has been felicitated for excellent discharge of her duties. Sushri Saroj was felicitated by Principal Secretary Health Shri Praveer Krishna in the presence of Commissioner Health Shri Pankaj Agrawal and Madhya Pradesh Mission Director of National Health Mission Dr. M. Geeta. It is noteworthy that Sehore district’s ASHA Workers Smt. Archana Verma, Smt. Sheela Sharma and Smt. Shobha Gehlot were also felicitated with incentive money for their significant role in improving public health. As an ASHA worker, Sushri Saroj Vishwakarma has received incentive amount worth Rs. 28 thousand 150 in a month. Shri Praveer Krishna said that Sushri Saroj is a source of inspiration for other ASHA workers in the state.
In December 2013, Sushri Saroj ensured complete pre-natal check-up of 13 women and became institutional delivery motivator for 8 women. She looked after 20 new born babies, ensured HIV test of 6 women and linked 22 women with family welfare services. Sushri Saroj Vishwakarma has become entitled for the state level award also by ensuring complete course of vaccinations of 19 children in first year, 10 children in second year and holding 7 important events like Gram Swasthya and Poshan Diwas.
Guarantee of delivery of 16 important services pertaining to maternal health, infant health, family welfare and disease control has been ensured in state’s various health institutions and Village Health Centres. Responsibility of Health Service Providers for this has been fixed. Provision to felicitate best performing Health Service Providers has been made in department’s 100-day action plan. For this, norms have been laid down under e-Health Monitoring System.
