Tansen Samaroh, the prestigious event of Indian classical music, began with Hari Katha, Milad, Chadarposhi and Qawwali at Tansen’s Samadhi-Sthal at Hajira in Gwalior today. This year, music maestros are offering sonorous tributes to Tansen during Tansen Samaroh being held for the last 89 years.
Ustad Majeed Khan played on shehnai in the early morning of Friday at Tansen Samadhi-Sthal followed by musical spiritual discourse on human relationships by Naghpanthi Sant Shrikantnath Dholi Bua Maharaj. He said that objectives of Roza and Vrat, Mulla and Pandit and Khwaja and Acharya are the same that people should follow path of righteousness. Dholi Bua Maharaj also sang bhajans.
Maulana Iqbal Mohammad and companions recited Milad Sharif. At the conclusion, traditional chadars were offered at the graves of Hazrat Mohammad Ghaus and Tansen.
Tansen Samaroh organised by Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet Evam Kala Akademi of Madhya Pradesh government and Directorate of Culture will continue till December 30. The last and 6thsession will be held at Tansen’s birthplace Murar Janpad Panchayat’s village Behat on the banks of Jhilmil river on December 30.
