World Bank Supervision Mission reviews DPIP project

At a high-level meeting, World Bank Supervision Mission reviewed progress of works undertaken during last 4 years under second phase of District Poverty Initiative Project in the state here today. The team led by World Bank Task Team Leader Shri Kevin Crockford held detailed discussions Madhya Pradesh DPIP project’s works, livelihood activities, innovations and important achievements. Shri Kevin Crockford said that this project is being implemented in various states of the country through World Bank assistance. Of these, results of projects in Madhya Pradesh are the best. Project Coordinator Shri L.M. Belwal, members of State Project Unit and District Project Managers were present on the occasion.

The World Bank Supervision Mission team having arrived to review progress of the second phase of District Poverty Initiative Project, held one-to-one discussions with State Project Coordinator and District Project Managers. Project Coordinator Shri Belwal informed that physical and financial targets have been successfully achieved due to planned efforts during last 4 years under the second phase of the project. He informed that the project is being implemented in 4,.580 villages in 53 development blocks in the state.

World Bank Supervision Mission team’s other members including Shri Michael Winston Davis, Shri Samik Sundardas, Shri Saumik Mitra, Sushri Mio Takada, Sushri Gitika, Sushri Papiya, Sushri Shruti Gaur and Shri Atin Rastogi also attended the meeting. The World Bank team also gave important suggestions for better implementation of DPIP project. Coordinator Procurement Shri Raman Wadhwa informed underlined project’s achievements through a video presentation. On the occasion a video film focusing on innovations in various districts and livelihood activities was also screened.
