Irregularities in BDS exam and recovery of degrees

Chancellor and Governor orders enquiry

Chancellor and Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav has appointed retired judge Justice Shri N.K. Jain to enquire into irregularities in BDS exam 2013 under Barkatullah University, Bhopal investigated by STF and recovery of degrees by it from ex-students of the university. The enquiry officer has been asked to complete the enquiry within one month of issuance this order and submit its report to the Chancellor.

The terms of the reference include enquiry by Special Task Force (STF) into the case of recovery under section 10 (1) of Madhya Pradesh University Act, 2013 of degrees of Barkatullah University, Bhopal issued to other students by ex-students and cases of irregularities in invigilation, evaluation etc. during BDS exam of Barkatullah University, Bhopal.

Orders have been given to undertake enquiry on 6 terms of reference. It has been said in the orders that the enquiry officer will be independent to take cognisance of applications, complaints, letters etc. to be received by him during the enquiry. The enquiry officer will be independent to make his recommendations for action to be taken under the provisions of Madhya Pradesh University Act, 1973. The enquiry officer will be free to prescribe enquiry procedure himself for undertaking enquiry systematically.
