CC TV cameras installed at 104 crossings in city

Home Minister Shri Gupta inaugurates Bhopal City Surveillance Control Room

As many as 430 CC TV cameras have been installed at 104 crossings in Bhopal city. Home Minister Shri Gupta inaugurates Bhopal City Surveillance Control Room near Police Control Room here today. All the cameras installed will be monitored by Bhopal City Surveillance Control Room. The system has also been linked with ultramodern Dial 100 system.

Home Minister Shri Gupta said that every possible efforts are being made to give better and transparent administration. He said that such systems will be installed all over the state. The government has made budgetary provision for this. He said that apart from common people, activities of police personnel will also be recorded in the system. The Home Minister also informed about works undertaken for police welfare by state government. He said that now police personnel should show more effective performance in field. Shri Gupta said that peaceful atmosphere in the state will help attract investors to Madhya Pradesh. This will provide jobs to state’s youths. He said that special training will also be imparted to the staff manning the control room.

Director General of Police Shri Nandan Dube said that apart from traffic management, installation of CC TV cameras will also help in nabbing criminals. Shri Dube also expressed gratitude to the Home Minister for ensuring outstanding works for police welfare. He said that due to this, manpower can be used in other works. Inspector General of Police Shri Sanjay Jha informed about functioning of surveillance control room.

In the first phase, CC TV cameras were installed at 16 major crossings in the city followed by 283 cameras at 61 other major crossings. Later, 71 cameras were installed at 27 places near and around Raj Bhavan. In all, 430 cameras have been installed at 104 crossings in the city so far. Each camera will store recording of 30 days. Besides, the system has also been connected with Dial 100 system. If any unwanted activity is witnessed at any crossing or any incident is reported through the system, a police vehicle will be rushed to the spot. For this, arrangement of 105 vehicles has been made. The same system has been implemented at Indore also.
