Take action against agencies not completing work in time

CM Shri Chouhan at Major Projects Board’s meeting

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that strict action should be taken against construction agencies not completing work within time-limit. Shri Chouhan was chairing a meeting of Major Projects Board here today. Water Resources & Finance Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, Agriculture Minister Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, PWD Minister Shri Nagendra Singh, Revenue Minister Shri Karan Singh Verma and Minister of State for Narmada Valley Development Authority Shri K.L. Agrawal attended the meeting.

Detailed discussions were held on major projects at the meeting. Later, at a meeting of Narmada Control Board, it was decided to extend deadline for canal construction work of Bargi diversion project. The canal with 2 lakh 45 thousand hectare irrigation potential will irrigate fields in Satna, Rewa, Katni and Jabalpur districts. Construction of this 196 km long canal has been completed in 104 kilometers so far. Its deadline has been extended upto June 30, 2016.

Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Additional Chief Secretaries Shri M.M. Upadhyay and Shri Ajay Nath were also present in the meeting.
