Over 43 thousand poor people become landowners

Over 43 thousand 536 poor, SC and ST people living by making dwellings on unclaimed land in villages of the state have been made landowners.

Under Madhya Pradesh Waas Sthan Dakhalkar (Bhumi-swami Adhikaron Ka Pradan Kiya Jana) Sanshodhan Adhiniyam-2012, the State Government has is providing ownership rights to poor people living by making dwellings on unclaimed land as on year 2011. After survey, 96 percent eligible beneficiaries have been provided land ownership. Process is underway in 4 percent cases.

Revenue Minister Shri Karan Singh Verma informed that of the beneficiaries, 9034 are SC, 24 thousand 213 ST and 10 thousand 289 of other classes. Process is underway in the cases of 1369 SC, 1979 ST and 1385 people of other classes.

Meanwhile, 16 thousand 707 land right documents have been distributed in Rewa division, 13 thousand 642 in Indore, 4592 in Ujjain, 2351 in Gwalior, 1679 in Jabalpur, 1640 in Sagar, 1123 in Bhopal, 903 in Shahdol, 847 in Chambal and 204 in Narmadapuram division.
