AIR ASIA TO MAKE AIR HUB AT BHOPAL OR INDORE

CEO SHRI CHANDALIA CALLS ON CHIEF MINISTER SHRI CHOUHAN

Air Asia is plans making an Air Hub at Bhopal or Indore. The Chief Executive Officer of Air Asia Shri Mittu Chandalia called on the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Chief Secretary Shri R. Parashuram and Secretary to Chief Minister Shri S.K. Mishra were also present on the occasion.

It may be mentioned here that Air Asia, an airlines major, plans making a hub of airlines at Bhopal or Indore from where there will be flights for different cities of India. This would also promote tourism and employment. Besides, passengers from other countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and Australia will also come to the state.

Shri Chandalia also held discussions with the Chief Secretary and other senior officers. The Chief Secretary informed that Madhya Pradesh has the highest growth rate in the country. Excellent infrastructure has been developed with very good road connectivity. The villages of the state are receiving 24x7 electricity.

Shri Chandalia said that Madhya Pradesh has immense potential in air service sector. Air Asia is committed to providing economic air travel services in India. The connectivity of Madhya Pradesh with all the cities of the country would lead to growth of commerce and business and augment sources of income. The Air Asia wants to set up an Air Motor Centre in the state, he added.

Additional Chief Secretary Shri P.K. Dash and Managing Director of M.P. State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Raghavendra Singh were also present during the discussions.
