8.78 crore saplings planted under Hariyali Mahotsav

As many as 8 crore 78 lakh 37 thousand 688 saplings have been planted under Hariyali Mahotsav in 51 thousand 291 hectare in the state during year 2013-14. Of these, 7 crore 95 lakh 8 thousand 268 saplings have been planed by including 2 crore 8 lakh 48 thousand 921 saplings by State Forest Development Corporation.

During the period, Capital Project Administration has planted 46 thousand 600 saplings, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department 82 lakh 82 thousand 820 and Sericulture Directorate has planted 83 lakh 29 thousand 420 saplings. Forest Department has planted 3 crore 47 lakh 74 thousand 921 saplings under Non-Plan Head, 15 lakh 42 thousand 579 saplings under Forestry Extension, 18 lakh 6 thousand 789 saplings under National Forestry Scheme, 33 thousand 474 saplings under alternatives scheme, 42 thousand saplings under additional central assistance, 75 lakh 62 thousand 217 saplings under Forest Committees, 49 lakh 44 thousand 233 saplings under MNREGA, 73 lakh 21 thousand 682 saplings under other schemes and 6 lakh 31 thousand 461 saplings were planted under sapling distribution scheme.
