Home Minister Shri Gupta said that this system will be introduced in other major cities of the state also. He said that behaviour of police should be such that common people can visit police stations like other offices. Shri Gupta said that apart from implementation of Madhya Pradesh Police Health Security Scheme, State Government has also made adequate arrangements for promotions and housing of police personnel. He said that the government is taking care of police personnel and it is their responsibility now to improve their conduct and behaviour in a manner that people have trust in police.

The Home Minister said that it was decided to hold police station-level meetings with common people for increasing dialogue. He said that process of giving one-day leave per month has been started in all police stations on rotation basis. Shri Gupta said that Citizen Cop scheme will help to ensure quick action in criminal cases.

Shri Gupta presented to Shri Anurag Sharma his lost cell phone found through Lost Cell Phone Unit launched by Bhopal police recently. So far, 171 complaints have been registered by the unit. He also felicitated the engineer and other persons having developed software of Citizen Cop by presenting them momentoes.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri I.S. Dani said that so far, police and criminals used to play hide and seek, but this system will help the police to track criminals quickly. DGP Shri Nandan Dube said that common people will give information about crimes without hesitation since informer’s identity will be kept secret.
