Rs 32 crore electricity bills of Bhopal city’s 42 thousand consumers waived

Home Minister inaugurates electricity service camp

So far, about 42 thousand BPL electricity consumers have availed benefit of Deenbandhu Yojana. Their electricity bill dues amounting to about 32 crore 30 lakh as on June 30 have been waived. This was informed at electricity service camp held at Jahangirabad here today. The camp was inaugurated by Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta. He also gave a patient hearing to consumers’ problems.

The Home Minister said that the State Government has waived electricity bills dues outstanding against BPL consumers as on June 30. He urged the beneficiaries to pay their electricity bills regularly from July next. Shri Gupta suggested to use power only as per requirement. Power Distribution Company’s executive engineer Shri Khan informed that due bills worth about 11 crore of 20 thousand consumers in South Division have been waived.
