Over 2500 surgeries performed in GMC hospitals

As many as 2539 surgeries including 772 major and 1767 minor ones were performed during July in hospitals affiliated to Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. According to college Dean, 41 thousand 33 OPD and 4272 indoor patients were treated at Hamidia Hospital and Sultania Lady Hospital affiliated to the college.

Four major and 79 minor dental surgeries were performed in Hamidia Hospital. Similarly, 19 major and 42 minor burn and plastic surgeries were performed. In all, 20 major and 12 minor cardiothoresic surgeries were also performed. In the hospital, 37 major and 76 minor ENT surgeries. Ophthalmology department performed 7 major and 457 minor eye surgeries in Hamidia hospital. In all, 158 major and 158 minor surgeries were performed by orthopaedics department, 155 major and 115 minor surgeries by surgery department and 46 major and 80 minor surgeries were performed by paediatrics surgery department. Gynaecology Department performed 326 major and 748 minor operations.

Treatment was provided to 1032 patients through 60 cobalt machines by radiotherapy department.

During medical examination, 141 dialysis, 66 endoscopies, 9 fibre optic endoscopies, 34 skin spear, 16 cartrise, 1 halter monitoring, 556 echo doppler, 5 TMT, 9403 X-rays, 1115 sonographies, 51 colour doppler, 30 reference, 4 L.R.P. surgeries, 34 skin smear and 420 CT scans were performed.
