Notification for new district Agar-Malwa issued

Collector and SP to assume charge on August 16

Notification has been issued for carving out 51st district of the state Agar-Malwa today. Exercising powers vested under sub-section (2) of Section 13 of Madhya Pradesh Land Revenue Code, 1959 (No. 20 of year 1959), State Government has carved out Agar-Malwa district by excluding Agar, Badoda, Susner and Nalkhera tahsils from Shajapur district. The new district will come into being with effect from August 16, 2013. Its headquarters will be Agar.

It is noteworthy that State Government ordered posting of 2002 batch IAS officer Shri D.D. Agrawal as collector of Agar-Malwa district. Earlier, Shri Agrawal was posted as Project Director Project Uday and Additional Commissioner Urban Administration & Development. Similarly, orders have been issued to post State Police Service’s officer Shri R.S. Parihar (DD 90) as superintendent of police of Agar-Malwa district. Earlier, Shri Parihar was posted at Commandant, 35th Battalion, SAF, Mandla. The State Government has directed the district collector and SP of the new district to assume charge in the forenoon of August 16, 2013.
