Keep Kharif crops free from caterpillars and diseases

As per advice of Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, it is now the need of the hour to ensure safety of crops for good yield during Kharif season.

Director Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Dr. D.N. Sharma has informed that yellowness seen in the leaves of soybean, cotton and crops of pulses might be due to logging of excessive water in fields. Therefore, extra water should be flushed out of fields through any means. At this time, it will be beneficial for such crop to add 5 to 7 kg per hectare NPK fertilizer’s mixture. For controlling fungus, 2 grams of Carbendazim should be dissolved in one liter water and spray the same on diseased plants. According to Director Agriculture, reason behind leaves’ yellowness might be white fly. Its caterpillars are found in clusters beneath leaves and such juice of leaves due to which leaves catch a sort of viral disease. For this, it is very necessary to control while fly. According Agriculture Department 10 EC Ethofenprox, 1 liter medicine per hectare or Thymithoxam 25 WP 100 grams or Trizophoz 40 EC’s doze of 800 mm per hectare should be dissolved in about 750 gram water and sprayed on plants.
