About Rs. 24 crore electricity bills in city waived so far

Home Minister distributes waiver letters at camp

Electricity bills worth about Rs. 24 crore as on June have been waived in Bhopal city so far. About 45 thousand BPL consumers are registered with Central Region Power Distribution Company. Of these, pending bills of 34 thousand consumers have been waived. It was informed at electricity service camp held under Deenbandhu Yojana at company’s office at Depot Chouraha here today. At the camp, Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta distributed electricity bill waiver letters to BPL consumers.

The Home Minister said that all BPL consumers should get registered with the company for getting benefit under Deenbandhu Yojana. He said that people should regularly pay electricity bills from July. At the camp, superintending engineer Shri A.K. Khatri informed about the scheme. Next camp will he held in front of Kamla Nagar police station at Kotra at 10 am.
