JABALPUR, FEBRUARY 10.
A woman advocate was shot at in Sanjeevani Nagar on Sunday morning when she was preparing to go to Maihar with her mother.
According to sources, advocate Swatantra Tripathi daughter of Gopal Tripathi was starting her two wheeler at the meantime four youths riding on two motorcycles reached there and started abusing. Meanwhile, one of the youths opened fire which pierced in the left hand of advocate. The attackers fled after opening fire.
The injured advocate was admitted to medical college hospital where she was under treatment. Garha police have registered a case of attempt to murder and started search for the accused.
Garha SHO JBS Chandel said that advocate Swatantra Tripathi along with her mother Mohini registered a complaint in the morning at the police station that when she was preparing for pilgrimage to Maihar the four motorcycle borne youths attacked her.
Advocate said that a youth Ashish was riding one of the motorcycles and advocate Shivshankar Tripathi, his elder brother Ravishankar Tripathi were pillion riders. A youth was riding on other motorcycle alone. According to complainant shiv Shankar Tripathi who was pillion rider reached there and started abusing and when Swatantra opposed it Shiv Shankar opened fire at her.
SHO Chandel said the advocate admitted at medical college hospital has alleged that she was shot at. Police on her complaint have registered a criminal case against the accused who will be arrested soon.
