Spate of thefts continues in town

The incidents of thefts are occurring continuously in the town and police remained unable to check activities of thieves.
Nearly 14 motorcycles have been stolen in last 45 days. Superintendent o f police (SP) had line attached SHO before a few days because of continuous thefts in the town.
According to information, the unidentified thieves struck at the residence of patwari Ashok Jain and the sales manager of Ratnakar Bank, Upkar shrivastava and stole gold and silver jewellery worth Rs1.75lakh in the early hours of January 27.
The incident took place at Indraprasth colony where both the persons have rented apartments in the same building.
Jain had gone to Banda to attend a marriage and the thieves taking advantage of deserted house stole gold and silver jewellery.
The thieves also attacked at the room of sales manager Shrivastava at first floor of the same building. Shrivastava had gone to his native place Ujjain. The thieves stole a camera worth Rs 10,000, wrist watch worth Rs1,500, gold ornaments and Rs 53,000 cash. FSL team reached the spot and reviewed the situation.
Earlier, the unidentified thieves had simultaneously stolen Rs16 lakh from three houses behind the police station on December 10, 2012. The thieves had also stolen jewellery worth Rs 1.25 lakh from a Hanuman Temple on court premises. They also struck at the house of a branch manager of Madhya Bharat Gramin Bank stealing cash and jewellery from his house.
