Santosh Rai and Rekha Nishad elected as chairman, vice chairperson

The process of election for Krishi Upaj Mandi, Paharua was completed amidst gathering in which Congress supported candidate Santosh Rai got 7 votes and he has been elected Mandi chairman.

Similarly, Rekha Nishad has been elected as vice chairpersons securing 8 votes. All the 12 members had participated in the poll process. It became clear in the results that the cross voting was also occurred in the election.

Earlier, Santosh Rai of Reethi and Anil Patel of Vijayraghavgarh had filed nomination forms. Similarly, Manoj Baghel the elected member from Barhi and Rekha Nishad of Katni had filed their nomination forms.

A press conference was organised at the residence of MLA Sanjay Pathak and presence of 7 Congress supported members had ensured that Congress will dominate on chairman and vice chairman posts.

The Congress leaders were hopeful up to end that they will bag both the posts finally.

BJP leaders had assurances that they will get advantage of cross voting but it not happened.
