Late Beeru Jaat memorial cricket tournament was inaugurated at Chheemak on Monday.
BJP district general secretary (rural) Kaptan Singh Sahsari expressing his views in the inaugural function said the sports talents emerge in rural areas through organisation of such cricket tournaments. He also said the event is also helpful for youths’ physical development besides imbibing team spirit among them.
Bhitarwar SDM Brijesh Saxena was the chief guest on the occasion who was introduced to the players of Kosa and Gadhauta villages.
The SDM said such tournaments should be also be organised for women which would enhance interest among the villagers for sports and youths would remain healthy.
The tournament organiser Suryabhan Singh Rawat said that 16 cricket teams would participate in the tournament which would continue for 17 days. He informed that the winner team will be given a cash prize of Rs 5,100 and the runner up team will be given Rs 3,100. Man of the match player will be given an LCD TV.
