The Sarni police on Tuesday exhumed the body of two youths on request of residents of Khateda kalan village for identification.
Police had found the bodies at Belond Ghat on January 25 under Amla and Sarni police station areas. The deceased have been identified as Khapa Khateda village residents.
Police have been suspecting that the youths were murdered and waiting for the post-mortem report. SP Lalit Shakyawar and Sarni SDOP PS Mandloi reached the spot and investigated there on Monday.
According to information, police had received information about two bodies at Belond Ghat on January 25. The bodies were not identified so police buried them.
Sarni SDOP PS Mandloi said the bodies were found at the bordering area of Amla and Sarni police stations so Sarni police in investigation found a motorcycle around half a kilometre away from the spot.
Police interrogated the owner of motorcycle who revealed that both the youths had gone from Khapa Khateda village on motorcycle on Sunday but did not return.
The villagers of Khateda Kalan village requested the police officials for identifying the deceased.
After the permission of SDM the police exhumed both the bodies from graves and the villagers identified them as Vinodi, son of Maroti Dhurvey and Omkar, son of Shankar Punde. Police handed over the bodies to the kin.
Sarni SDOP PS Mandloi suspected about the murder of the youths whose bodies were found in jungle.
According to SDOP, further action will be taken after receiving post-mortem report. SDOP also said that deceased Omkar was warrantee in Khapa Khateda murder case in the year 2005.
