JABALPUR.
The
patients are being treated with the expired medicines at government
Ayurved college and hospital, Gwarighat. Central Council of Indian
Medicine (CCIM) member Surendra Patel personally visited at the
hospital and saw that the patients were being given these medicines.
Patel
had made surprise visit to investigate at the ayurvedic college as he
had received complaint against the college administration and
employees.
When Patel reached to ask the patients he became stunned to see expiry date medicines.
Earlier,
complaints were given about the irregularities of ayurvedic college and
hospital administration that expiry date medicines were being given to
the patients. Patel found the complaint true.
The medical college students also complained that they were asked to give bribe and were threatened to make them fail.
The students also complained about misbehaviour of lecturers.
CCIM
member Patel said that the hospital is being run in rented building and
principal said that the under construction building will be completed
in one or two years.
Patel
also expressed resentment as Panch Karm wing has not been shifted to
decided place. He said that the building for shifting the wing has been
constructed by why it was not shifted so far.
Patel
found that there was lack of nursing staff in the hospital. He said
that 13 such patients were found who were admitted for last 2 or 3 days
so it will be difficult to say the college administration might have
admitted these patients keeping in view his visit. Patel said that
there is need to much reform at the college. He also said the report of
irregularities will be handed over to government. College principal GL
Titoni and several lecturers were present on the occasion.
