NARSINGHPUR.
Rape
cases are increasing in the district but the NGOs including Inner Wheel
Club, Lioness Club and other organizations only show about morality,
humanity and religion and sometimes distribute clothes among poor
children or give financial assistance to any family to remain in
headlines of the newspapers only.
Though
the NGOs have warned the government after the gang rape incident of
Delhi that further these incidents will not be tolerated but a 9 year
old minor girl faced the same incident in the district.
After
the shameful rape incident at Biloni village under Kareli police
station no such organization reached at the victim family that which
type help they needed.
In
a murder case in which a women was killed near Jhirna on December 9 and
when her mother reached at Kotwali police station the police personnel
sent her back saying that she should have come to lodge report after 24
hours. They also said her mother that she might have eloped with
someone.
A
nine year old girl was playing at her home and a 26 year old youth who
is cousin of the girl raped her finding alone at her home.
The elder sister of the victim shouted seeing the accused but he had raped her.
The
parents of the girl reached police station Kareli on December 13 and
later the police arrested the accused on December 15. The accused was
produced at Gadarwara court from where he was sent jail.
Mostly
such heinous crimes are committed in rural areas, either it is the
matter of Biloni village or Vijanpur where a blind girl was sexually
exploited for long.
Several women organizations of the district remain silent because of it the pressure group could not perform their duty well.
A
housewife Rashmi said that the activeness and resentment was seen in
Delhi gang rape case alerts all the citizens that such incidents will
not be tolerated.
Another housewife Swati said that incidents of torture and exploitation are increasing in the district.
Delhi
gang rape incident is a shameful, the women organizations and other
NGOs should come to the streets if such incidents occur in the district
but they only remain limited to publicise themselves in news papers
only.
Role of NGOs not satisfactory
