The farmers of Semjhira area did not get compensation against their acquired agriculture land for Dehgud reservoir construction.
The farmers continuously opposed the land acquisition but the contractor did not stop excavation work as a result the farmers got resented and started sit in at construction site of reservoir on Saturday.
The farmers have warned the administration that if their land will be acquired without compensation then they will start hunger strike.
Water resource department executive engineer A Deharia said that the farmers have been given compensation against the land where excavation work is being done by the contractor. If the work will be done on the land of farmers who were not given compensation then it will be stopped after spot inspection.
